The Boys

SFX Costume Fabricator

Toronto, 2023

Season 4 of Amazon’s genre-redefining dystopian superhero show. A variety of alternate costumes for main characters, background heroes, and other costume prop items. A large amount of sewing was done, including the use of custom screen printed stretch knits. Garment alterations, pattern making, and fabrication of rubberized components, and working off 3D body scans were some of the project components to complete season 4.

The Rings of Power

Digital Manufacturing Facility Coordinator

Senior Prop Fabricator

Auckland, 2020-2022

Over the course of 2 years in Auckland, NZ, we built a huge variety of hero props to help create the various kingdoms of Middle Earth. It was a challenging and engaging project, as it was a departure from the geometric perfection of the many pervious sci-fi projects. Additionally, I coordinated and ran the digital manufacturing facility, managing machine and human resources to output an ever-changing list of prioritized assets.

Avatar 2

WETA WORKSHOP

Senior Prop Fabricator

Wellington, 2019-2020

Avatar 2 was a dream project to work on, and Weta Workshop truly lived up to its world-class reputation. A variety of highly detailed props and scenic pieces were created for the production, including the opportunity for me to build the physical models of the main assault rifle used in the movie (Including Colonel Miles Quaritch’s main armament). James Cameron’s famous attention to detail and demanding level of finish was on full display for this production, where some of the hero props demanded tolerances in the .5mm range.

Pacific Rim: Uprising

Action Vehicles Designer/Fabricator

Sydney, 2016-2017

Working with the team that made all the vehicles for Mad Max: Fury Road was an amazing experience. The guys on the team were magicians with metal working and I learned a lot about auto mechanics and welding. We created 6 driveable Armoured Personnel Carriers for the Pan Pacific Defence Corps, based off the cut-down chassis of old Australian Army Landrovers. Additionally, we modded a Ducati motorcycle for one of the main characters, and transformed a city bus into a futuristic aviation pushback vehicle.

Thor Ragnarok

Senior Prop Fabricator

Gold Coast, 2016

Marvel productions are always fun, and Thor was no exception! The movie featured many different alien races, all with their own unique aesthetics. Props worked on include the Junk World raider weapons, the chair Thor was strapped to, a golden palanquin for Jeff Goldblum’s character, and a cart for the tesseract that ended up not being used.

Alien Covenant

Senior Prop Fabricator

Sydney, 2016

My first large-scale production was Ridley Scott’s Alien Covenant. Over the course of 8 months we fabricated numerous props, including the control panels on the Covenant bridge, drop ship, and flatbed tug. Additional props and set pieces include hypersleep pods, engine internals for the tug, details on the large construction trucks used to kill the alien, and a variety of scenic detailing throughout the built environments.
